Nostalgic and totally heart-wrenching!
OPM band LILY, (formerly known as Callalily) has made a triumphant return with “Magbalik,” a song written by Lem Belaro and produced by Project Laurelius, released on January 26, 2024.
Leading the band are Joshua Bulot (vocals), Alden Acosta (guitar), Aaron Ricafrente (bass), Nathan Reyes (guitar), Lem Belaro (drums), and Ezra Jehu (keys).
The music video begins with a haunting vocal intro by the beautiful featured singer, Shamae Mariano, singing the additional lyrics (a new addition to the nostalgic “Magbalik” version that we are all familiar with)—a timeless classic in the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) genre.

Kudos to the cast for their brilliant acting—Jiro Manio, Samantha Gabronino, Jewel Briol, and Cora Buenaventura. “Magbalik” will resonate to those who fall in love with their bestfriend, but finding out later that the feeling is not mutual. From “green flag” to “red flag” story, aww that hurts, right?
The music video “Magbalik,” directed by Jeff Valencia, serves as a beautiful reminder of the power of love. It shows us how, while chasing our dreams and pursuing the love of our life, we often forget to prioritize our family, especially our parents. The video portrays the unconditional love of a mother through all the ups and downs of life and the realization of a son that even after a painful heartbreak, life must go on. It’s always going back to his roots, his family.
