LA Music Review | Art, stories and advice

Vulnerable, heroic and truly empowering!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Hi Sara, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.

Singer-Songwriter Sara Niemietz releases heroic,
genre-defying album, Superman.

Epiphanic fourth album chronicles a collaborative creative journey with world-class producer-guitarist Linda Taylor. Los Angeles, California — singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actor, Sara Niemietz’ fourth album, the indie rock Superman, represents a reinvigorated era in her artistic continuum born from small vulnerable moments brought on as a result of lockdown, and seismic, non- pandemic life changes.

“This album is about speaking your piece, shaking off the past, and finding the superhero inside,”.

“As a kid, I used to run around with this blanket tied around my neck and call myself ‘Super Sara.’ This is a return to that, and it’s the most representative thing I’ve done to date.”

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?

This record is unlike anything I’ve released previously.

Released on June 30, 2022. I can’t wait for people to hear it. There are huge guitar-driven anthems, as well as more vulnerable numbers. It tells the story of the last few years for me. Superman is the most representative release to date.

What is your vision for this song?

We approached the album as a book; each song is a chapter.

Certainly all books have their rising and falling actions, their hardships and triumphs, but this one has a theme of empowerment to it and a joyful ending.

What is your favorite part of this body of work?

Working with Linda. It’s not often you find a collaborator who connects so effortlessly with the music in your head. Sending ideas back and forth was a true joy and I can’t wait to start the next album!

Another fun element was recording a few of the songs in Chinese. I’ve sung in Chinese for many years, but this is the first time I’ve had one of my songs translated into the language.

Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?

Stay tuned, full album to be released in September, but we’ll be trailing out singles in the leading months.
