LA Music Review | Art, stories and advice
Fresh, upbeat and truly empowering!

Hi Hoomanz, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
HOOMANZ \’hyü-mənz\ is an indie brit-pop rock band from Tacloban City formed in 2018.
Formerly named as Serafina which was featured on one of the famous noon time shows Its Showtime during the pandemic for their song Hey Hey Pandemic. Changed their name to Hoomanz when they were signed as an artist under KBOX MUSIC, an independent record label in Region 8.
Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?
The Boogeyman is a song about the deepest darkest secrets of humans.
Released on October 7, 2022. These inevitably surfaces out usually when we sleep, gives us nightmares. We create our own monsters, we need to face them eventually. No one can help us but ourselves and be humble enough to confess those. If not, The Boogeyman will come and it might be too late.

What is your vision for this project?
The vision of the song is in line to the stigma of suicide…
the song encourages people to talk to someone before they can hurt somebody or themselves. Don’t be ashamed of what’s going on in their head, fighting your own demons. Anybody can help.
What is your favorite part of this body of work?
The uniqueness of the sound, the fusion of indie brit-pop rock. Actually we don’t even know what kind nd of genre this song belongs to. The off beat guitar at end of the chorus and on the 2nd verse and the evil laugh at the end we think makes the song stand out.
Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?
We’re planning to do a music video of the song The Boogeyman and we’re set to release a 4 track EP called We Are Hoomanz some time this year which includes this song.
