LA Music Review | Art, stories and advice
Romantic, relatable, and full of fireworks!
Hi Zyrah, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
Hi! I’m Zyrah, an Overseas Filipina Worker (OFW) and songwriter currently working here in Hongkong. I seek to write and share my original songs with those who can easily relate to the story. I love to write poems and quotes. I tried putting melody on one of my poems that led me to come up with a song. That’s still my songwriting process until now.

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?
Released on March 3, 2023. When Songwriters United planned an album for release in Spotify, I immediately thought of including this song, “It’s You and Me.” It’s one of the poems I wrote transformed into a song. This song is about the immeasurable feelings of love between two people who met unexpectedly and fell for each other. Love waits when true love exists.
What is your vision for this song? What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
As an OFW songwriter, I want to inspire and influence most of my fellow OFWs, to showcase their talent, especially in songwriting. Most of them don’t have the confidence to release and share their songs with the Filipino Indie community. I want them to be inspired that aside from being an OFW, they can still pursue whatever passion they have and realize that dream.
A song can definitely influence people in many ways. This can be a big boost for them if they see aspiring songwriters starting to make wave in the indie community. I hope that through our album, The Rock “White Album” of Songwriters United, I can somehow inspire and build their confidence in writing and sharing their songs with the world.
What is your favorite part of this body of work?
I love the whole story of this song. It gave me reasons to love deeper and never give up on love.
Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?
Stay tuned for my upcoming collaborations and a new album for release this year.
