Heartfelt and totally amazing!

Hi Taylor, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.

Growing up, music has always been a part of my DNA—my mother taught me piano and my sisters are also musicians.

During my high school years, I started writing heartfelt worship songs to Jesus, and since then, I’ve been using music as an expression of my gratitude to Him. Throughout my mistakes and rebellious moments, His stubborn love keeps washing over me, and my hope is that the songs I write would interrupt the humdrum of daily life and direct our attention back to God—little by little, day by day.

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?

“Far Off Father” was written as a lifeline to those who feel hopeless or alone.

Released May 26, 2023. My co-writer (Ann Chinworth) and I were just worshipping together in my living room when this song first started to take shape. We were inspired by the following Scriptures:

“…but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Proverbs 18:24

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8: 38 – 39

What is your vision for this song?

As a blend between Indie Christian and Modern Worship, this song emphasizes God’s unchanging love and reminds us an important truth: whatever difficulties we may face, there is a Father that holds us close and refuses to let us go.

What is your favorite part of this body of work?

I love how this song speaks to our deepest need: to be known and loved by God. In the middle of our doubts, in our loneliness, we can remind ourselves that God is close to us and will never abandon us.

Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?

I will be releasing a new single called “Broken Record” on June 23!
