LA Music Review | Art, stories and advice

Nostalgic, chill, and romantic!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Hi Weil, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.

Killerweil vocalist Weil Ylagan, who presently plays the bass for the bands JP Cuison & Co. and Ken Liwanag, also makes his own music as a solo artist. He released his debut single, “Kabaliwan,” in 2021, then “Paradiso” in 2022.

The chill and retro vibes of Weil will help you see him in a different light, different from his hard rock roots. His solo music projects makes you want to have a peaceful long road trip with someone, like his latest release, “Lili.”

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?

Released on June 23, 2023. The song sounds overly dramatic but romantic in a way that the it tells a man’s unrequited love towards someone he hasn’t seen in while.

In this song, just as I did with my previous singles, I kept the 80’s retro vibe that also adds to that feeling of nostalgia that is perfect for what it is all about.

What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?

I think the song is more of a venue for self-expression. No lessons that I would like to impart to my audience in particular.

What is your favorite part of this body of work?

The story-telling of the lyrics, I think.

I thought you’d be my Valentine
But all I had was wasted time
Again and again

Future releases?

My metal band Killerweil will be releasing a single soon. Watch out.
