Smooth, fresh, and totally enchanting!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Few artists can make jazz feel fresh and timeless at the same time, but Laufey does it effortlessly. Her music carries a warm, nostalgic charm that instantly pulls you into her world.

“From the Start” has such a chill and comforting vibe. It makes me imagine myself painting on a quiet afternoon, sipping coffee by the window, or casually flipping through magazines while sinking into a soft couch. It’s the kind of song that makes ordinary moments feel a little more magical.

Is unrequited love the most beautiful kind of pain?

The song beautifully captures the feeling of unrequited love. Lines like “Listening to you harp on ’bout some new soulmate” and “Oh, how I wish you’ll wake up one day, run to me, confess your love” perfectly express the pain of loving someone who sees another person as their perfect match.

For me, this song is incredibly easy on the ears. Its jazzy sound is smooth, sweet, and relaxing, and honestly, I wish it lasted a little longer. Laufey’s voice is another highlight, deep, rich, and uniquely hers. There’s a fullness in her vocals that makes every word feel sincere.

Everything about “From the Start” feels perfectly crafted. The melody flows effortlessly, the arrangement is smooth, and the sweetness of the song never feels forced.

Laufey just made me blush. There’s something about her music that makes you feel good even when she’s singing about heartbreak. I’m officially her newest fan. She has become the sunshine after the rain.

Laufey has been busy with her successful A Matter of Time Tour, performing across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, including recent shows in Manila.

If you haven’t heard “From the Start” yet, give it a listen. Let your heart feel a little lighter, smile a little wider, and get lost in the warmth of Laufey’s enchanting music.
