LA Music Review | Art, stories and advice
Soulful, uplitifing and full of life lessons!
Hi Amanda, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
Amanda Lauren is a multi-passionate artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Her artistry is heavily influenced by the likes of Queens of R&B, Soul, and Pop–Amy Winehouse, Tori Kelly, and Sinead Harnett. As a coming of age, Amanda Lauren will be releasing her undeniably, captivating debut single, Becoming SZN, on her 26th Birthday. Her soothing tone and angelic essence carry seamlessly throughout the entirety of her new acoustic track.
Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?
BECOMING SZN is solemn, yet celebratory in nature.
Released on February 9, 2022. It’s reflective and embodies gratitude for every season life has to offer. It tells the story of transformation–becoming the person you’ve always wanted to be. This song was penned to exhibit my last season of 2021.
What is your vision for this song?
My vision for this song stems from the life of a butterfly:
When you walk through life, inevitably, there will be various stages or “seasons” you will pass through. As the process of becoming a butterfly~metamorphosis~, change is always a constant.
Similar to a caterpillar going into its cocoon, sometimes life calls you to enter a season of sacred solitude to truly figure out who you are and your heart’s deepest desires.
You’ll experience growing pains-– heartbreak, surrender, shedding limiting beliefs, people, comfort zones, etc. You’ll face your deepest insecurities and fears head-on. You will learn to let go of what was so you can welcome the abundance of what will be.
For a period of time, it may seem dark and feel bleak. Maybe it feels as if there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
In hindsight, you’ll recognize the paradoxical truth– seasons don’t last forever. Light will come and you’ll be able to see all the ways in which you’ve changed and grown.
Ultimately, the seasons of life are preparing you to answer the beckoning of your life’s ascension and give you the necessary strength to (re) build wings, take flight, and BECOME (the person you’ve desired to be).
P.S. You’re not falling apart, you’re in a season of becoming! 🦋

What is your favorite part of the song?
My fave thing about this song is the healing/reflective aspect of it. There’s no better feeling than looking back at life and seeing how far you’ve come/grown.
Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?
This is an acoustic version of Becoming SZN. The Original, R&B/Soul Version will be coming out in Spring! Eeep!
