LA Music Review | Art, stories and advice

Vulnerable, groovy and simply nostalgic!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

American record producer and singer-songwriter Lauv marks “26” – his first release this 2022 before the release of his second full length album arriving later this year.

I’ll never admit it but I wish that I was younger. Yeah, 26 and rich…“

The artist shared that this track is about a person growing up and trying to find his inner light, the light he loses as he gets older.

“It’s the first song on the album, and to me, it sets up in the most perfect way what the album is going to be about and where I’m at — but also in a way that leaves a lot to the imagination,” Lauv explains.

We all experience disagreement and conflicts with ourselves sometimes. And this is what Lauv wanted to share with us. A feeling of depression one experiences, a feeling of defeat. And then comes to a realization where one tries hard to reclaim the light of their youth.

For this track, Lauv opened up more and expanded his masterpiece and sound. It was more focused on storytelling that most of us can definitely relate to! All the feels are here – from personal conflicts to self-encouragement!!!
