LA Music Review | Art, stories and advice
Honest, vulnerable and totally empowering!
Hi Andrea, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
Powerhouse vocals and unstoppable attitude combine in the petite package that is Latin Country Artist Andrea Vasquez. The Virginia native has blended her love of modern country and Latin-American roots to create a refreshing sound within the genre.
Born in L.A. to an extremely musical family, she started playing violin, piano and guitar at a young age which inspired her to also begin writing her own songs. With her undeniable stage presence and songs that match mainstream major quality, Andrea is quickly establishing herself within country music as one to watch.
Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?
Released on February 11, 2022. I wrote this song with Nina Soro and David Espinoza about letting go of a toxic relationship- whether that is a relationship, friendship or work situation… letting go of that negative energy you carry when someone brings you down for their problems. I hope my listeners find it empowering and can relate to it!

What is your vision for this song?
The inspiration behind the message of “Made Me Cry” was the empowerment you feel after leaving a negative situation which is why in the video we are toasting and having fun after leaving that behind. It’s like “I’m doing good, I don’t need you, I’m not stressed.”
What is your favorite part of this body of work?
I am so proud of how the overall production turned out and complemented the visuals. We had a blast creating this video set at home literally on my dining room floor but you would have never known. It was our most creative shoot to date!
Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?
The official music video is premiering on CMT.com March 11th. Be sure to check it out on my YouTube page as well.
I’m also currently in the studio working on new material to be released in the next few months, which will then be followed up with an album later this year. Keep an eye out on my socials for the latest info and be sure to follow me on Spotify so you don’t miss out on the new music when it drops.
