Filipino folk-pop rock nine-piece band Ben&Ben has just released a romantic single “Dear” which tells the story of a love that transcends through time with understanding and experience.
How do you know if it’s real love?
They say that you’ll know it’s real love if it stands the test of time. Your ‘dear’ will never let you go through thick and thin, as what the lyrics of their song says:
Only the two of us can understand
I promise you that I will hold your hand
The sureness of our love
No matter what may come
My dear

Ben&Ben gives a flawless performance with this song. Everything is on point from vocals to the lyrics penned by Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin, with the magnificent blend of instruments by Patricia Lasaten, Agnes Reoma, Keife Cabugao, and Toni Muñoz.
It also has a 70’s love song vibe that will make you want to dance with your partner.
How do you truly keep the love burning when
challenges occur in a relationship?
There will be times when we don’t see beyond
Our differences and the things we don’t agree on
Get on each other’s nerves with careless words
We throw in the height of strong emotions
But know that I will stay
I’m with you all the way
The band shares a great reminder that loving is always a choice. To understand and accept your partner amidst all the flaws and shortcomings. It is a continuous growth between two people and the reassurance that you are both committed to loving each other no matter what happens.
Within the beautiful and captivating
Strangeness of our love
I’ve found a sense of peace
And clarity that I had once dreamed of
My dear, my dear, my dear
We all wish to have our own “dear” who will hold our hand in whatever season to comfort and love us unconditionally.
To have a deep, intimate connection and peace that only God can provide in his perfect timing.
This is one of the best songs of Ben&Ben for me. It’s very honest and raw. If you haven’t found your ‘dear’ yet, just have faith. If it’s time, love will find you.
