LA Music Review | Art, stories and advice
Sad but truly empowering!

Hi Namfi, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
Namfi Fernandez is a Christian songwriter who hails from the Philippines. She started her exposure into music as a keyboardist and at times a worship leader of their Church’s Music Ministry. When the pandemic hit, a door of opportunity opened to join a formal training in songwriting at Kingdom Music Academy under the auspice of Brad Guldemond and vocal training at Singing Made Simple by Sophie Shear. Namfi’s songwriting is of multi genres, writing songs that would depict the transparency of her heart.
As a songwriter, she also writes songs for other artists of different ages to interpret. Hence her song reaches people from different age brackets, igniting faith, hope and love to their hearts. She also does the singing in some of her songs. Thematically, her songs can be labeled as Christian Contemporary Music.
She is barely new in the indie music and as of the moment she has released 10 songs, 2 EPs namely, I Write I Sing (Nevertheless, Your Face, Trust His Love) and Transparency I Write They Sing (Have Your Way, Stay, Into Love, IJWTBY, and Let Go).
In addition, she has 2 singles namely Ode To A Dying Heart and Iiwasan Ka. She is currently an A&R of Christian Contemporary Music for Cre8Music Records.

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?
Released on December 30, 2022. A famous Christian couple was on the news about their marriage that fell apart. That crushed my heart. Not to mention I had several close friends whose marriages ended because of the same issues about infidelity. I do not mean to question couples, and how they run their relationships. This is not to shame anyone.
I wrote the song to highlight a weakness that has
to be addressed through transparency and prayers, in the hope to encourage the weak to do the right thing.
What is your vision for this project? What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
I hope to inspire marriages to be intact. True love does not lead people to sin. To the weak, transparency is important to recognize.
I envision this song to be a theme song of a teleserye that promotes healthy Godly marriages. And maybe a known singer to interpret it one day.
What is your favorite part of the song?
Every part has a very unique characteristic that I love. There were several times my song is described to have a “The Company” vibe that happens to be one of my favorite local artist group.
The verses talk about what the heart goes through and how the attraction started. Transparency. The chorus is where I addressed that no matter how in love the person is, if it is not right, it has to stop.
The bridge I think is where the punch line lies. Because strength has to come from God, through His healing love.
“Sa harap ng Maykapal,
Awa Nya ang aking dasal
Kahinaan ng puso ko
Hilumin ng pag-ibig Nya.
I love how Alain Godornes of Cebu brought to life my lyrics and melody. It was he whom I asked to do the whole music production.
Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?
As for future releases, there will be a lot! I have three love songs on February, one worship song on March, one evangelism song on Holy Week, and another “hugot song” on April. Still working on different collaborations with talented songwriters and musicians.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to be featured on LAMR. God bless y’all big time.
