Hello LAMR! It’s good to be back. I am Jerwin Que aka FADO, a Filipino music producer, DJ & independent artist from Cavite, Philippines with main genres of EDM, Pop, Dance, R&B. For this song, “Di Makaiwas”, I collaborated with Anj Jimenez, a Filipina singer-songwriter from Laguna, and Cerise Limueco aka Zerise, also a Filipina singer-songwriter who creates pop rock music and hip-hop.

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?

Di Makaiwas” is a song collaboration by FADO (producer), with Anj Jimenez and Cerise (songwriters), released on February 14th.

“I’m not sure if I should tell you, but in 2022, I have a special friend with whom I love to converse always. He’s nice, kind, sweet, and loving, and I can’t help but admire him. But the time is not right for us, so that’s how I came up with the song,” Anj said.

When Cerise heard the demo, she was intrigued by the song’s story (which was about wanting to take a risk in falling in love again even though you’ve been hurt before), so I elaborated on it even further through the rap part.

What is your vision for this song?

The lyrics convey that they both like each other, but it appears that people around them disapprove, but they still want to try. The song acknowledges this impermanence in the first few lines:

Ano bang dapat kong gawin
Napalapit ka na sakin,
Di ba talaga kayang pilitin?,
Bat di muna natin sulitin,
Subukang pagbigyan,
Tignan kung saan tayo makakarating.

What is your favorite part of this body of work?

I enjoyed the smooth voice of Anj and rap portion of Zerise. The chorus is very catchy and Anj did an excellent job!

Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?

This year, Zerise will be releasing an album and Anj will release more songs.
