Hi Francis DP, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
Francis DP is a vocalist, arranger, and music producer based in Manila, Philippines.
He has been a performing musician for over twenty years. He is arguably one of the hidden gems in the indie music production scene. Songwriting and producing being his first true love, he now aims to continue sharing with the world his stories through his music.
The story of love in all its forms can be told in so many ways. Francis DP is a messenger of that story.

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?
Released on May 17, 2023. I always wanted to write something upbeat, a song with a solid groove, and something people to party to. I usually write slow love songs, so this is a welcome challenge as a producer and songwriter.
The playful, charming lyrics and melody were written way back when I was in high school. Grateful that I figured out the right production approach to the song this year.
This song shares a story of a person who is smitten with someone and is trying to convince them to take a chance on love. It has an upbeat tempo and catchy melody are designed to get the listener moving and grooving to the rhythm. It creates an irresistible earworm that will stay with you long after the music stops.
What is your vision for this song?
My vision is to blend the old school 90’s vibe with the modern. I grew up in the 90s, so most of my musical influences came from that era. But since I’m producing now, I wanted to incorporate that into something people now can still appreciate while still paying homage to the 90s.
What is your favorite part of this body of work?
The bassline! I love every part of the song, but the bassline is definitely my favorite. I wanted a bassline that could stand on its own. I believe we achieved it here.
