Catchy, relatable and truly empowering!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“The Good Guy” which was released June 9, 2023 is a sentimental tune that changes the narrative on the term, “daddy issues” and shares a warm thank you to the good men in our lives. Sabrina wants this song to be relatable not just to the people who had an incredible dad who raised them, but to anyone who had a good man or men in their life.

It empowers listeners, reminding them of their worth, and teaching them to never settle for less.

This song serves as a reminder not only of the good men who took part in building us into the women we are today, but to keep your standards high and remember there are good guys out there. To the young boys listening to this as well Sabrina hopes it serves as an example of the type of man that can aspire to be for the females in their lives.

The song opens with a gentle fingerstyle melody, paired with slides. Sabrina’s vocals are light and airy as she sings her thoughtful lyrics over an alluring guitar melody. Accompanied by a percussive section featuring a shaker and drums, Sabrina creates a comforting ambiance as her clever lyrics draw listeners in.

With the lyrics, “Got an eye that calls out nonsense/But still a heart of gold/I know what I’m worth/And I know how to say no,” Sabrina expresses a quiet confidence, inspiring listeners to recognize their same value. The tempo and instrumentation builds after the first chorus, adding more pop influences and a catchy beat.

This single will hit home for a lot of fans as it paints a picture of a loving and warm relationship between a father and daughter that makes you feel safe. When listening, you can practically see the father-daughter dance at a wedding, when a girl finally finds the man that lives up to the standards set for her. This heartwarming tune leaves the audience feeling grateful and confident, illustrating Sabrina’s greater goal – using the power of music to make a difference.

I truly hope to use my platform to be able to make a difference. One person can make a difference, not everyone needs to do what we think are big miraculous things because one small thing can really be that miraculous thing in someone’s day.
