Hi Annie, welcome to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music?
Annie Vander’s previous radio release, “Falling Into Nashville,” received great traction at country radio, which secured her on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart. This was her first radio charting single. This release also charted in the Top 5 streaming and was also in the Top 18 Most Downloaded songs on PlayMPE, coming in right after Brett Eldredge.
With a few singles already under her belt including “Tonight” which landed on numerous streaming playlists, she has also received prominent press coverage and feedback from music directors saying her songs come straight from the heart.
Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?
Released July 28, 2023. This was one song I did not write. It was written by respected Nashville songwriters Cece Dubois and David Norris. “He Himself & Him” is a fun and sassy take on an everyday dating dilemma. The song calls out an all-too relatable dating experience of dealing with narcissistic men when trying to put yourself out there.
I was having a conversation with my talented producer David Norris when the light bulb switched on. “‘Check this song out,’ he said. He read me the lyrics to this song with the story teller in his voice, just by reading the lyrics, I said…yes! That’s it!”
It is so relatable and so fun! I feel like almost any woman can relate to it. I think we have all experienced a bad date or 20 at some point in life!
What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
The song serves as a reminder to never settle for anything less than you deserve. It’s the perfect song to sing at the top of your lungs with your girlfriends, no matter what stage of life you’re in.

I am continuously out playing shows, writing and making trips to Nashville to record new material and new music for my fans. This brand new release “He Himself & Him” is out everywhere digitally and is also hitting mainstream country music.
After just one day of its release to country radio, the song was the #1 most streamed song and was in the Top 5 of the most downloaded on PlayMPE, coming in right after Megan Moroney. Be sure to call your local radio station and request it!
