Elaisha is back with new single “Lovesick”

LA Music Review | Art, stories and advice

Upbeat, mesmerizing, and full of fireworks!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Hi Elaisha, welcome back to LA Music Review! Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?

Released on June 21, 2023. The song “Lovesick” started way back before “Porselas” was written. I wrote Lovesick about a boy who was my friend at the time for fun because of writer’s block.

However, when finishing the song, I became infatuated to this boy, that turned into song as the ‘infatuation stage’ before Porselas. Lovesick had many lyrical changes after Porselas was released because I wanted to capture the image of someone falling in love in a bar and loving them back as they walk home. I visualized this track as a fun party song we can all dance to.

What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?

I want the audience to have fun with the song and live freely. When you see someone you like, perhaps in a bar, go for it. Take the risk or you’ll lose the chance. Maybe you’ll end up holding their hand at the end of the night.

What are your favorite parts of this song?

I have two favorite parts for this from the time I recorded it. My first favorite was making the second verse. I want the audience to imagine a person with the description given in the second verse: “Strawberry flavored lips, Diamond eyes with a tongue so click” and the part where it says “something caught my eye, a handmade jewel you wore tonight” implying that the person I am describing was the same person I wrote “Porselas” to.

My second favorite was while recording the song with the last chorus. I had the idea to shout the back-up vocals to sound fun and exciting and have a party-like ambiance. I had fun recording the song and still remember jumping while listening to the finished piece.

Future releases? Upcoming events?

I will be releasing more songs soon if this one becomes successful like my last song!
