Hi Astrid, welcome back to LA Music Review! Tell us a little bit about you and your music?
I’m Astrid Black from Quezon City Philippines…
I’m a Dark Pop artist with classical undertones. Exploring the captivating realm of Music. Crafting melodies that dive into the depths of emotions. Singer, songwriter, and creator of haunting melodies. I love to experiment. I’m also doing Pop, EDM etc.
Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?
Released August 28, 2023. I‘m really interested in psychology, I have this ability to pick up behind people’s mask easily. Growing up I have lots of curiosity about people’s behavior and how the way they act.
And I also want to expose some narcissists in my life. I always encounter them everyday, I guess all of us are narcissists, some people just have more dosage. I was actually betrayed that time by a friend that I thought was real but that’s not the case. I was playing my keyboard that time, suddenly the melody just came out and my head was racing, I couldn’t help it but to write what I feel so, that’s it I guess.

What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
The lesson that I want to people to understand is “All people wear masks”…
we all wear mask because that’s our only defensive way to hide our weakness, imperfections and also for some people is to deceive. All people have their own agendas, because life is a game. It is what it is. especially on our work environment.
We have to learn to how to discern, we have to be tough because in this crazy world, everywhere we go , there’s always manipulations happening. That’s life. And in every rejection, every disappointments, there’s always a lesson for us.
What is your favorite part of this body of work?
I will humbly say that most favorite part of this song was when I made it in just 15 minutes straight.
