Jay Jammang Captures Forever in “Never Growing Old”

LA Music Review |ย Art, stories and advice

Upbeat, nostalgic, and timeless!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Congrats on the release Jay! What was your inspiration when you were writing this project?

The inspiration behind this project came from my experiences navigating my twenties.

Over the past few years, I went through a lot of personal growth, heartbreak, uncertainty, and self-discovery, and songwriting became my way of processing it all.

With โ€œNever Growing Old,โ€ I wanted to capture the feeling of being stuck in the middle of adulthood, where youโ€™re still figuring life out while trying not to lose yourself in the process. Your twenties can be fun, messy, chaotic, and sometimes even depressing, but despite all of that, I wanted the song to remind people to hold onto their spark and continue becoming the person they want to be.

What lessons would you like to impart to your audience?

One lesson Iโ€™d like to share with my audience is that itโ€™s okay to not have everything figured out in your twenties.

A lot of people feel pressured to always be productive, successful, or certain about where theyโ€™re headed. Still, the truth is, growth can also look like resting, feeling lost, starting over, or simply surviving difficult moments.

I also want people to remember not to lose themselves while growing older. No matter how overwhelming adulthood gets, I hope they continue holding onto the things that make them feel aliveโ€”their passion, creativity, dreams, and individuality.

At the end of the day, โ€œNever Growing Oldโ€ is really about protecting your spark despite all the noise and pressure around you.

What is your favorite part of this body of work?

My favorite part of this body of work was the entire process of creating โ€œNever Growing Old.โ€ I remember while writing the song, I was dancing, grooving, and honestly, in one of my happiest moods, just singing along to it. Compared to my previous releases, this song felt more freeing and uplifting, which made the experience really memorable for me.

Iโ€™m also a perfectionist when it comes to my music, so the recording process took months because I kept redoing and retaking parts until everything felt right emotionally and sonically. Even though it was exhausting at times, I think that attention to detail made the song more genuine and personal.

Future releases?

Iโ€™m preparing for the release of my upcoming EP, which is dropping soon.

The entire body of work is very personal to me because it reflects different emotions, experiences, and lessons Iโ€™ve gone through while navigating adulthood.

For now, my main focus is continuing to connect with listeners through honest music and gradually sharing more of this new era.
