Filipina singer, songwriter, recording artist and actress Janine Berdin embraces us with her newest single “The Side Character“.
“I’m sorry that I’m positively negative and weak. But I’m happy that I’m me, I’m glad that I am me.“
Janine tells a story of a person who acknowledges his weakness and mediocrity in this masterpiece. “It’s a song for all the people who feel like side characters,” the singer shared. “I chose to tell that story to cope with the pain, and I truly am sorry if you can relate.”

This song is an extremely honest track written by Janine herself, together with Dominic Guyot. It definitely is hard to be a side character in your own story, but in the end, you just have to accept yourself despite you doubting your worth, having your insecurities, and feeling worthless.
What we need to know in life is that our role is important no matter how bad the story is at times. Sometimes, it’s normal to feel like we aren’t enough, but a story wouldn’t be complete without these kind of characters!
Kudos to Janine for creating a highly relatable song that will help us realize how crucial self-acceptance is!
